Three men arrested, firearm and ammunition seized in dissident republican activity probe

Three men have been arrested and a firearm and ammunition seized by gardai investigating dissident republican activity.
As part of an ongoing investigation, gardai attached to the Special Detective Unit, assisted by members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) stopped and searched two cars at Kyletaun, Rathkeale, Co Limerick.
Both cars - one of which was believed to have been stolen - were stopped by officers at approximately 2am this morning.
During the course of the search, a firearm and ammunition were discovered and seized.
The three men, who are aged in the mid 20s to late 30s, were all arrested.
They are currently being detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
