Three men arrested as €350,000 in cash and €10,000 worth of prescription pills seized
Three men have been arrested as part of major garda operation as €350,000 in cash was seized.
A number of vehicles were stopped on the M1 motorway just north of Swords, Co. Dublin yesterday from the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau.
The three men - all aged in their 40s - were arrested in the operation which is part of ongoing investigations targeting criminal activity in the Dublin area.
The substantial amount of cash was in vacuum packs, in a holdall bag.
Follow up searches were conducted in a number of areas, with the assistance of Gardaí from the Dublin Region and Cavan District.
A vacuum packing machine and associated equipment were recovered at an address in Tallaght, Dublin 24 and Zopiclone tablets with a street value in excess of €10,000 being recovered at an address in Baileboro, Co. Cavan.
Two of those arrested have been released pending the submission of files to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
One remains in custody at Swords Garda Station, detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
