Almost 3,000 homes across north Dublin are currently without power due to a major fault.

The main areas affected include Clongriffin, Clarehall, Darndale, Raheny, Donaghmeade and other areas in Dublin 13 and Dublin 17.

ESB crews have been working to address the issue for several hours.

A spokesperson told independent.ie that the estimated restoration time should be before 11.30am.

They have apologised for any inconvenience caused.
