Ten Irish teens arrested in early morning garda operation

Gardai have made ten arrests as part of an investigation into a number of assaults and robberies.

Seven youths and three girls were detained as part of the operation following searches in Dublin and Louth early this morning.

They are all of Irish nationality and their ages range from between 14 years and 19 years.

The incidents under investigation occurred in the Dublin 2 area over the course of the summer this year.

Up to 70 gardai from various Dublin gardai stations took part in the operation.

The teenagers are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street, Kevin Street, Kilmainham, Terenure, Sundrive Road, Irishtown, Mountjoy and Store Street Garda Stations.

All can be detained for a maximum period of 24 hours.
