Teenager (19) seriously injured following road collision in early hours of this morning

A teenager has been left seriously injured after the car in which he was travelling in crashed in the early hours of this morning.

The teenager was one of five people travelling in the car when it crashed into a ditch at Ferefad, Longford, at approximately 3.50am this morning.

The collision occurred on the Ferefad to Ballymacormack Road.

The teenager was rushed to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar where he is receiving treatment today.

The driver of the vehicle and three other passengers were not injured in the crash.

The road was closed this morning to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions were in lace.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact gardai at Longford Garda Station on 043 335 0570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
