Teenage wedding guest falls from hotel balcony
An 18-year-old girl is making a recovery today after falling from a hotel balcony in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood the teenager, who is from Moate, Co Westmeath, was a guest at a wedding at the Bridge House Hotel in Tullamore, Co Offaly, yesterday.
It is believed the girl was sitting on a first floor balcony before accidentally falling.
She hit a parked BMW vehicle parked underneath.
The incident occurred at approximately 1.15am this morning and emergency services rushed to the scene.
She was rushed to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore.
However, the young woman is said to be making a recovery now.
A garda spokesperson said the HSA have been confirmed about the accident and investigations are now underway.
Cllr Tommy McKeigue, of Offaly County Council, described the accident as a "awful".
"It’s an awful accident and we’re thinking of this young girl and her family at this time," he told independent.ie.
