Ditch the winter woollies and embrace the great outdoors because temperatures are set to reach up to 17C tomorrow.

Sun-seekers are set for a great weekend as Met Eireann has predicted we are in for a dry and sunny few days ahead.

And, Ireland is set to be warmer than some of our favourite holiday hotspots.

Met Éireann forecaster Joanna Donnelly said: "Today is going to be another dry day.

"We're expecting more in the way of sunny spells, today is going to be sunny, we're predicting temperatures of 12-15C.

"Tomorrow is set to be sunnier still, temperatures could reach up to 17C in the midlands and it will be slightly cooler along the east coast.

"The temperature will drop slightly overnight to be 6-8C.

"Things will change on Sunday, when it will be mostly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain, although it should still be as warm as up to 15C in the south-east."
