Staff suspended after claims of drug misuse by ambulance paramedics

A number of staff at the National Ambulance Service in Dublin were suspended after claims of drug misuse by ambulance paramedics.

Allegations were made against the staff that drugs were misused during working hours.

Gardaí confirmed that an investigation was launched “after a number of matters” were reported by HSE management, but declined to reveal any further details.

Both gardai and the HSE are investigating the claims.

No arrests have been made as part of the investigation.
