Irish Water staff can reportedly earn up to a 3pc extra bonus payment on their salaries, it has been revealed.

This bonus, also available to staff at parent company Ervia, will be separate to individual performance-related payments.

According to the document seen by RTE’s This Week, under this potential extra payment, staff members could potentially be paid two further bonus payments if they meet their pre-determined targets in a year.

It is believed that both the company and their individual business units have the potential to earn extra payments, if the set targets are met.

Ervia confirmed these details to RTE, saying that a multiplier calculation “applies to the performance award structure at both Irish Water and its parent company.”

“The “multiplier" also works to reduce the amount of bonus payments paid out, in cases where the company did not achieve its targets,” Ervia said in a statement to the broadcaster.

This multiplier works by multiplying a staff member's bonus by 1.1pc if the company achieves its targets.

According to RTE, the compound figure is then multiplied by a further 1.1pc if the staff member's business unit hit its targets.
