A shooting incident took place at a Dublin home on Sunday night.

Gardai in Clondalkin are investigating the discharge of a firearm in the area.

The incident occurred in the Melrose Park area at around 8pm.

There were no injuries, but the house at the scene has been slightly damaged. It is not known how many shots were fired.

Gardai say no arrests have yet been made, and the scene will be preserved for a technical examination.

It is not yet clear whether the incident has any links to Dublin’s ongoing gangland feud.

A local mother said, “I was at home when I heard the shots.”

“I heard a number of shots and it sounded like bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.

A local man said “we heard the shots were fired from the park across the road but no one was hurt,” he said.

Investigations are continuing.
