Shot fired at home in West Dublin, men escape on motorbike

An investigation has been launched after a shot was fired at a home in West Dublin on Wednesday night.

At approximately 9.45pm two men on a black scrambler motorbike approached the house in the Fernleigh Estate in Carpenterstown.

The rear passenger fired a shotgun once at the home, causing damage to the front door.

Nobody was injured in the attack and the two men escaped on the motorbike. They left in the direction of Coolmine.

A source told Independent.ie the house was vacant at the time.

There was no description of the men and gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on (01) 666 7000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
