'Shadow selfie' to shine a light on the homeless
People have been asked to put their selfie skills to use to take the homeless crisis out of the shadows, writes Ciara Treacy.
The 'shadow selfie' initiative, launched by Sister Stanislaus Kennedy of Focus Ireland, is encouraging the public to post a picture of their shadows on social media accounts and nominate friends to do the same.
The snaps will be projected on to Christ Church Cathedral on October 16 as part of the charity's 'Shine A Light Night'.
"People who are homeless are not always seen," said Sr Stan. "It's not just people sleeping rough, there are up to 5,000 people homeless in Ireland and the vast majority are in hostels or families stuck in a hotel room with their children for months."
