Search teams recover man's body from river

THE body of man who got into difficulty in the river Shannon at the University of Limerick has been recovered from the water.

The alarm was raised shortly after 6pm yesterday after the man believed to be in his 20s entered the water with a horse.

Members of the Fire Service, Limerick Marine Search and Rescue and gardai all responded to the call.

The search resumed this morning with divers from the Killaloe-Ballina Search and Recovery unit also providing assistance.

The body was recovered in an area of the river adjacent to the old swimming pool at UL yesterday morning
