'Road to the Rising' brings street alive

Dublin's main thoroughfare will come alive with street theatre, music and vintage attractions today.
RTÉ will recreate the atmosphere of pre-Rising Ireland in a 'Road to the Rising' event in the capital.
O'Connell Street will be pedestrianised for the free family event, which runs from 11am until 5pm.
A tented village will offer a glimpse into Edwardian professions, while free silent movies will be shown
There will be more than 60 talks, exhibitions and live broadcasts throughout the day with leading historians and RTÉ presenters.
Miriam O'Callaghan will host a series of lectures reflecting on the forces that shaped the events of Easter Week at the Abbey Theatre at 11am.
Meanwhile, a live musical broadcast will take place at The Gresham Hotel at 3pm with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the Kilfenora Céilí Band.
