A fire ripped through the site of a derelict pub in Dublin's north inner city last night.

Three units of the fire brigade attended the scene after the alarm was raised before midnight.

An ambulance, an ET and a turntable ladder were also the scene on Benburb Street, which is close to Smithfield.

It's understood the site is derelict but is next to a number of buildings.

The power was turned off on the Red Luas line as a result of the fire, which is believed to be at the site of an old pub.

The Red Line has reopened since and is in full operation this morning.

There are no reports of anybody injured in the blaze.
