Rail services delayed as train strikes flock of sheep on tracks

Train services have been affected this morning after a number of sheep were struck on the railway line.
The incident occurred on the line between Enfield and Kilcock this morning shortly after 5am.
A group of sheep had made their way on to the line and were struck when the train travelled through.
The train was damaged in the collision.
According to a spokesperson for Irish Rail, the driver was able to operate the train at a reduced speed until it reached Maynooth station.
Commuters then transferred to other lines and transport services to continue their journey.
