A man in his 30s was rushed to Tallaght Hospital this evening after the incident, which occurred on the N7 Dublin/ Limerick Road between J3 Citywest and J4 Rathcoole outbound road at around 4.45pm.

The incident occurred on the same stretch of road as a second minor incident on the inbound road involving two vehicles.

Both roads were partially closed during rush hour which led to long delays on both routes.

A Garda spokesperson has since confirmed that the roads have been reopened and traffic flow has returned to normal.
