Pedestrian (80s) killed after being struck by 4x4 in town centre

A pedestrian in his 80s died after he was knocked down this morning.

The man was struck by a 4x4 vehicle in the town of Mohill in Co Leitrim.

The incident occurred at approximately 10.45am at the junction of Glebe St. and Main St.

He was taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital where he later passed away.

The occupants of the 4x4 were not injured.

The scene of the incident is preserved for examination by a forensic team and traffic diversions are in place.
