Over €6.5m of drugs has been discovered by gardai after two separate raids.

Three people have been arrested in connection to a heroin with an estimated street value of €4.05m after Gardai stopped an articulated truck travelling on the M1 in Drogheda, Co Louth yesterday evening and recovered 27 kilos of heroin.

A 40-year-old man and 43-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. A second man (40) was arrested in a follow up search.

All three are currently detained at Coolock and Drogheda Garda Stations.

Meanwhile, Gardai discovered 32 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of €2.24 million (subject to analysis) last night.

Two men (27 and 37 years) were arrested at scene and are currently detained at Blackrock Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice.
