Operation Thor: Gardai seize drugs and cash during search operation targeting criminal gangs in Limerick

Gardai have seized more than €80,000 in drugs and €13,000 in cash in a series of planned searches targeted at criminal gangs in Limerick.

As part of 'Operation Thor', gardai attached to the Limerick Divisional Drugs Squad, Detective and Crime Units, Divisional Traffic Corps, Regional Support Unit and other local units searched some 12 separate locations today as part of a planned operation.

The locations included houses, derelict houses and waste lands.

Some €80,000 worth of drugs, which included cannabis resin, cocaine and Benzodiazepine, along with €13,000 cash was seized during the searches.

A number of shotgun cartridges were also seized at the scene.

No arrests have been made at this stage and investigations are continuing.
