A lucky Irish player has won the top prize of €500,000 in Tuesday night’s Euromillions Plus game.
The winning ticket, which has yet to be claimed, was sold in the Centra in Carna Cushinstown, Ballinaboola in Wexford yesterday.
The €168m Euromillions jackpot was won by a player in Belgium.
Another player from Carlow picked up €111,049 after matching five numbers and the bonus in last Saturday’s Lotto draw. This ticket was sold in Michael Hosey’s XL Shop on the Staplestown Road in Carlow.
The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, said this today, “It is all so much to take in. It is a surreal feeling to be in the National Lottery picking up a cheque for what is a life changing amount of money for our family.
“It only feels real when you finally get the cheque into your hand. I am going to take some time out and think about the win. My family and I are going to plan a wonderful Christmas and after that, we will make some decisions to put some money away for the future.”
This Friday’s Euromillions jackpot is a guaranteed €17m; the draw ends at 7.30pm.
