Motorcyclist (68) killed after bike collided with ditch this morning

A 68-year-old man has been killed after his motorcycle collided with a ditch this morning.

The single vehicle crash occurred at Cousane, on the Kealkil to Coppeen Rd (R585) shortly after 11am.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after his bike crashed into the ditch.

His body has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital.

No one else was injured in the collision.

The road, also known as the Bantry Line, is currently closed pending the completion of an examination by garda forensics.

Local diversions are currently in place.
