The incident, which took less than 10 seconds, happened outside the An Post office in Bluebell, in the south-west of Dublin city, on Thursday at 3.35pm.

These CCTV images show the sequence of events when the security guard got out of the van and went to the back doors after it had been parked outside the post office.

As he walks with the cash box towards the office, two youths can be seen running at him from around the corner.
