The 28-year-old's bicycle was crushed by the vehicle but incredibly she escaped with minor head and arm injuries.

A spokesman for Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed that they were called to the scene at the corner of Earlsfort Terrace and St Stephen's Green at 8am.

Three units, including a fire engine and an ambulance, attended the scene but the woman was "conscious and breathing" at the time.

She was removed to St James's Hospital for assessment.

Later Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted this image of the woman's bicycle under the truck's wheel.

They wrote: "Driving home this evening? Watch out for cyclists & children in the sun. No injuries for this city cyclist today."
