Acting Minister for Finance Michael Noonan is attending this morning's homelessness meeting at Leinster House.

The Oireachtas Committee on Housing and Homelessness begins at 10:30am with Noonan filling the first session.

Chairman of the Committee, John Curran, said the meeting "will focus on housing finance and the many issues surrounding this".

"Our meeting will begin with engagement from the acting Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan TD and will continue in the afternoon with representatives from the banking sector.”

“Likely topics include the mortgage arrears problem and rising rents. Economic evictions are a leading cause of homelessness, so Committee Members will be keen to engage constructively with our witnesses.”
