New EuroMillions lottery rules will see bigger jackpots for players, starting with a guaranteed €130m when the changes are introduced at the end of September.
The new system will see the introduction of more jackpots set at a €100m mark or above.
However the changes will also see the number of options in the Lucky Star section increase from 11 to 12, meaning players will need to pick the correct 2 numbers from an expanded pool.
There will also be an increase in the cost of a EuroMillions ticket from the current €2 to €2.50.
In recent weeks an Irish syndicate of Dublin Bus drivers took home €23.8m from the EuroMillions draw.
In previous years, a Limerick woman Dolores McNamara won over €115m from the European-wide lottery.
