Ahead of tonight's friendly against Oman, the pair spent almost three hours meeting children and staff at the Dublin hospital. A spokeswoman for the hospital said Roy and Martin were "unbelievable".

They "went around to every single ward and spoke to every child they came across", she said. "We had been chatting to the FAI to see whether they would come in as a treat to the patients. It was a very simple visit and hopefully the start of more to come."

Main picture shows Roy with three-month-old Kerry fan Realtaoin O'Lone, from Tyrrelstown, Co Dublin. Above: the pair with Eoin Conroy, eight weeks old, from Castleknock.
