Man shot in both legs in late-night gun attack
A man has been shot a number of times in the leg in attack in Derry.
The man was shot in each ankle and in the thigh in Rinmore Drive, Creggan at around 10.30pm on Tuesday.
He was then taken to Altnagelvin hospital and is in a stable condition.
Sinn Féin councillor Kevin Campbell told BBC that he had spoken to the man's parents and said they were in "shock."
"I went over and he was in the ambulance at that stage. I saw the family, I spoke to them, I know them very well, they'd be friends of mine," he said.
"They were basically in shock and the only thing they could tell me was that he had been out for a walk and was shot in both ankles.
"There are obviously some negative groups in the community responsible for that."
Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
