A MAN was left "caked in blood" after another man allegedly pushed him in front of a bus on a busy Dublin street.
The man, who is in his early 30s, was taken to St James's hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.
The incident occurred during rush hour traffic and while hundreds of people were flowing on to the busy street after leaving work.
The incident occurred at around 6.30pm on Aston Quay yesterday evening.
Gardai at Pearse Street confirmed they are investigating an incident which occurred on Aston Quay at approximately 6.30pm, where a male received serious injuries.
Articles of clothing were used to soak up the man's blood before gardai cordoned off the area and marked it as a crime scene.
The incident caused major traffic delays on the south quays as a section of the busy road was closed for a short time.
Gardai confirmed they were investigating a serious injury but a spokesman said the incident is "not being investigated as a road traffic collision".
He said no arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.
