A man (36) has been killed in a two-car crash this morning.

The crash occurred in Monasterboice at around 6.15am at Tully Esker, on the Drogheda to Monasterboice Rd.

The man, who was driving one of the two cars involved in the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man and woman (both in their 30s) were in the other car involved in the crash and have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.

Gardai in Drogheda are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the road between 5.45am and 6.30am this morning the 20th November to contact them on 041 9874200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
