Man in his 60s receives ‘puncture wounds’ after break-in at his home

A man received puncture wounds in an aggravated burglary at his home last night.

The incident occurred at Pauds Cross, Blarney, Co Cork when a man entered the property of a man and a struggle ensued.

The owner of the home (a man aged in his 60s) received a number of puncture wounds, say gardai.

The suspect fled the scene and the injured man was taken to Cork University Hospital.

After a gardai search, a man in his early 30s and a woman is her mid 20s were arrested and brought to Gurranabraher and Mayfield Garda Stations

The scene remains persevered for a technical examination and the investigation is ongoing.
