Man dies after falling into slurry tank

A 37-year-old man has died after he fell into a slurry tank

The tragedy occurred on a farm in Kealkill, Co Cork, yesterday evening at 5.30pm.

The man had been working on the farm when he fell into the slurry tank and was overcome by the fumes.

Emergency services were called to the scene and rescued the man from the tank before rushing him to Cork University hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Health and Safety Authority has been informed and an investigation is now underway.
