Man critically injured after he was stabbed while attending a bonfire in West Dublin

A man is in a critical condition tonight after he was stabbed while attending a bonfire.

The incident occurred at Drumheath in Blanchardstown, West Dublin, earlier this evening.

The man was attending a bonfire at the time of the attack which occurred at approximately 7.30pm.

He received serious stab injuries and was rushed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.

His condition has been described as critical.

A garda investigation is now underway and the scene has been preserved for technical examination.

There have been no arrests.

Gardai in Blanchardstown are investigating.
