Man (64) rushed to hospital after Dublin city stabbing

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed during an altercation with a group of teenagers.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Dolphin House in Dublin's South Inner city this afternoon.

A source said the 64-year-old man was set upon by by a number of young men.

The victim suffered two lacerations to his leg and was bleeding heavily when paramedics arrived.

A knife was discovered by gardaí on the window ledge of a nearby funeral home.

The victim has been taken to St James's Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. He was discharged this evening.

No formal complaint has been made to gardaí at this point.
