Man (36) dies and five-year-old girl injured in two-car crash

A man has died and a young girl (5) is injured following a road crash between two cars yesterday evening.

Paul Donnelly (36) was killed in the collision between a Vauxhall Vectra and Ford Focus at around 7.30pm.

The incident, which occurred at Magheraknock Road, Ballynahinch, has left another man (32) in critical condition in hospital.

A five year old girl also injured in the crash is in a stable condition.

PSNI Inspector Barney O'Connor said: "Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the Vauxhall Vectra and Ford Focus cars before the collision or came across the scene immediately afterwards."

The Magheranock Road is likely to remain closed for much of Sunday.
