Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a 30-year-old man suffered stab wounds in a city centre attack.

The incident occurred at around 11.30pm in Church Street in Dublin on Thursday, October 27

The man was attacked by a group of youths and was chased from the Smithfield area through Queen Street and on to Arran Quay.

The injured man managed to get assistance when he arrived at Church Street.

He then presented himself at the Mater Hospital where he was treated for stab wounds.

His injuries are understood to be non life threatening.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly anybody who was in the vicinity of Smithfield, Queen Street, Arran Quay and the Church Street areas of Dublin 7 between 11.15p.m. and 11.45p.m. on Thursday 27th October, 2016 to contact them.
