THE nephew of Irish actor Liam Neeson has been rushed to hospital suffering from a serious head injury, according to reports.
Ronan Sexton (31) is believed to have fallen from the top of a telephone box in Brighton while on a night out with friends. Sexton's mother Bernadette is the sister of the 'Star Wars' and 'Taken' star.
The incident occurred at around 4am in the early hours of last Sunday. Mr Sexton was rushed to a local hospital before being transferred to Hurstwood Park Hospital in West Sussex. He remains in a critical condition.
In 2009 Antrim native Liam was left devastated by the death of his wife of 15 years, Natasha Richardson, following a freak fall during a skiing trip in Canada.
The 45-year-old actress suffered a fatal brain injury as a result of the fall.
The 62-year-old, who lives in New York with his sons Micheal (19) and Daniel (18), opened up in February during a CNN interview about his wife's sudden death.
"[Her death] was never real," he said at the time.
"It still kind of isn't. There's periods now in our residence when I hear the door opening, especially the first couple of years . . . I still think I'm going to hear her."
A police spokesman said: "The man had been enjoying a night out with friends, who were present when he fell, and the incident is not being treated as suspicious."
