Kinahan to meet his mob in Dubai for war council

Key members of the Christy Kinahan crime syndicate are expected to hold a “war council” in Dubai next week.
Up to 20 thugs involved with the international crime gang are expected to jet out to the Persian Gulf for a “senior level” meeting late next week.
Waiting for them are cartel boss Christy Kinahan Snr and his loyal sons Daniel and Christopher. It’s believed the gathering could be plotting their next move in relation to the ongoing gangland feud in Dublin, which has claimed six lives since September.
However, they may also turn their attention to their international drug-dealing operation.
Key gangland player Gary Finnegan is in the Persian gulf resort where temperatures are expected to hit almost 40 degrees Celsius this weekend.
Finnegan (35), who has been linked to the 2010 murder of Eamon ‘The Don’ Dunne but is not considered a suspect in the case, is believed to have been in Dubai for the past number of weeks having travelled to the Arab state from Holland.
It is not known if key cartel figure Liam Byrne will travel to Dubai for the meeting but the 35-year-old was spotted by gardai in a Lucan pub on Wednesday night watching his beloved Liverpool’s failed attempt at winning the Europa League final.
His presence in the pub passed off without incident and sources said he was accompanied by two middle-aged men.
Byrne was one of the main targets of high profile raids by the Criminal Assets Bureau in March. Around €1m worth of property and €100,00 in cash was seized when gardai raided 12 homes and six businesses in a series of dawn raids in the Crumlin area.
In the course of these searches, a betting slip on a Liverpool game was also recovered. It’s understood the slip was found in the home of James Byrne, father of Liam Byrne. It was for €38,500 and it was 4/7 that Liverpool would beat Newcastle last December 6. Liverpool lost 2-0. A large amount of jewellery as well as 29 cars and SUVs and six motorbikes were seized.
Officers discovered a Jacuzzi and sauna room in the Crumlin home of Liam Byrne and a massive supply of Champagne at the Raleigh Square property.
It later emerged that the collection of 29 top-end Mercedes, BMW, Golf GTI, Lexus and Landcruiser models, as well as six high-powered motorbikes, are being stored in a compound at the Defence Forces Training Centre in the Curragh Camp.
It is believed that Christy Kinahan Snr has been based in Dubai for a number of months now. Christy and his sons Daniel and Christopher Jnr were arrested by Spanish police in 2010 as part of an international police investigation into the cartel codenamed Operation Shovel but none was charged with any offence.
