Taoiseach Enda Kenny has admitted that he has “regrets” over the medical card issue.
He also admitted that the issue “got out of hand”.
Interviewed on the Meaning of Life with Gay Byrne this evening, the Taoiseach said that "system was changed to bring equality to it, but the computer doesn't have nature."
Mr Kenny also said that he hoped that the Government could fix the situation.
The “system to have equality of assessment it forgot that that assessing process left aside or presented enormous strains for people, so I hope we can rectify that”, he said.
