The beautiful bond between man and his best friend was once again on show as the 2015 National Sheepdog trials got underway.

The annual event, which concludes tomorrow, is being held on Ken Whiteford’s farm in Johnstown, Co Kilkenny. Some 150 working dogs are being tested in various tasks with the chance of getting to represent Ireland in an international event on offer for the best dogs.
