Inspector O'Donovan was worried for the poor pup, who had hair loss and wounds covering his head, body, legs and feet.

Danny was part of a litter, but all of the other pups in the litter were in perfect health.

No veterinary treatment had been sought for Danny, and Inspector O'Donovan was worried for him.

She took him to a vet immediately who wasn't able to figure out the cause of Danny's scabs. Further tests are being carried out to see if there are any ongoing issues with his health.

Inspector O'Donovan said that veterinary care should have been sought for Danny right away.

“Danny’s condition must have been very painful, and veterinary attention should have been sought before it progressed," she said.

"Fortunately he is now in the care of the ISPCA Centre in Mallow and is receiving the treatment he desperately required.

"Throughout his ordeal, he has proved to be a very sweet puppy, and once his treatment is complete, Danny will make somebody a really lovely pet and we are confident that he will make a full recovery.”

The ISPCA are now looking for a home for Danny once his tests and treatment are complete.
