Investigation after man falls to his death at Mater Hospital
A man has died after a fall from the 5th floor of the Mater Hospital in the early hours of the morning.
The 40-year-old with an address on the north of Dublin city died after falling into a courtyard at the hospital on the city's North Circular Road at around 1am.
He was found on the ground with extensive head and leg injuries.
It is understood the man had a history of psychiatric illness and the death is being treated as a personal tragedy.
Gardai and the Mater Hospital are carrying out investigations into the death but say foul play is not suspected and it is being treated as a "personal tragedy".
