A woman has been rescued by the Coast Guard following an incident on a North County Dublin beach this morning.
The alarm was raised at 6am on a beach in Rush.
Two units of Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene initially before the Coast Guard was contacted to extract the patient.
It is not clear if the woman was swimming in the sea or walking along the beach when the incident happened.
Our pictures show the woman being winched to safety by the Irish Coast Guard helicopter before being transported to hospital at 6.45am.
