A video in a which a crowd is shouting encouragement to two women brawling in broad daylight has emerged.
The pair, believed to be members of the Travelling community, are seen punching each other in the face and pulling one another's hair in the clip.
A number of females gather around them and are shouting at the women in support as they fight each other.
The opponents, who are believed to be from two well-known families in the midlands, are fighting outside a building in a rural area.
One of the women, a blonde wearing a blue vest top and jeans, shouts "I'm first" as she points at another woman to come fight her.
She is then seen confronting a brunette woman wearing a pink vest top and pink leggings.
The video, which has been uploaded to YouTube and has attracted more than 20,000 hits, shows the blonde woman punching her opponent in the stomach before punching her in the face.
The pair are then seen falling over, before grappling with each other on the ground.
One female onlooker watching the fight can be heard shouting: "Go on X, give it to her."
The fight between the pair lasts 90 seconds.
Martin Collins of Travellers' rights group Pavee Point told the 'Irish Daily Star' newspaper he was shocked by what he saw in the footage, but not surprised.
"I'm not too surprised at this new development as women in the Traveller community are just as guilty as men at perpetuating this ongoing violence.
"They play a significant role in egging on these fights, which Pavee Point has always stressed are completely unacceptable.
"But I am extremely worried and concerned not only by the level of violence, the people getting injured, but also by the new depths of depravity in the name-calling, insults to young women and even insults to the dead. Nothing is off limits any more and nothing is sacred," Mr Collins added.
