Garth Brooks has reached out to the local residents in Croke Park in favour of his gigs thanking them for their support.
"We received a message from him via Peter Aiken," said resident Susan Mangan, who helped organise a petition of 900 signatures in favour of all five Brooks gigs. "Garth Brooks said he was aware of our group, what we are doing."
On Saturday morning, the mother of two began collecting signatures from residents who wanted all of the concerts staged at the national stadium. "We handed them over to the lord mayor just before his meeting," she said yesterday.
Last night at a Dublin City Council meeting Lord Mayor Christy Burke gave the petition to city manager Owen Keegan.
Ms Mangan also said Brooks expressed his gratitude.
