Gardai will display suspected stolen paintings tomorrow at a Dublin garda station in an effort to locate their rightful owners.

A number of paintings were seized during searches of a property earlier this year.

While gardai say they have established the provenance of six of these stolen paintings, the rest have not been claimed by their owners.

A garda statement today said: "It is believed that the vast majority of the remainder of the paintings have also been stolen, however establishing owners is proving difficult."

To aid with their investigation, Gardaí are putting these paintings on display to the media in order to gain coverage, and maybe prompt owners to come forward.

The remaining unidentified paintings will be on display for the media in Pearse Street Garda station at 11am, tomorrow.
