Gardai seize cannabis, heroin and cocaine in €30,000 drugs haul

Gardai have seized a significant amount of drugs following a total of 12 searches in Co Kildare.
Cannabis, heroin and cocaine worth approximately €30,000 were discovered as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Athy area.
Local gardai, assisted by the Regional Support Unit and the Garda dog unit, conducted 11 searches in the Athy area and 1 in Newbridge over the last week.
Property believed to have been stolen and an imitation firearm were also seized following the searches.
Four men, all aged in their 30s, were arrested and detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act.
Three have since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The fourth man was charged and appeared before CCJ Parkgate St earlier today (December 23).
He has been remanded on bail to appear before Athy District Ct at 10.30am on January 12 next year.
