A cyclist has died following collision

A CYCLIST has died following a road collision in Co Waterford.

The 32-year-old man, who was from Waterford, was cycling in the Stradbally area when the incident occurred.

Gardai at Kilmacthomas are investigating the incident which occurred at 6.50pm last night at Ballyvoile, Stradbally.

The collision occurred between the cyclist and a car.

The victim was rushed to University Hospital in Waterford but was pronounced dead a short time later.

No other person was injured.

The road has been closed to facilitate a forensic examination.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses and have urged them to contact Kilmacthomas Garda Station on 051 295 630 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
