Gardaí seize guns, ammo and drugs in targeted raid

Gardaí seized guns, ammunition and drugs worth €126,000 during a raid targeting organised criminal activity.

As part of operation Thor, local gardaí targeting criminals operating in the Limerick area seized cannabis herb, cocaine, benzodiazepines and alprazolam. The drugs have a combined estimated value of €126,000, pending analysis.

Two firearms, ammunition and a firearm component were also recovered during the search of a premises at Brooksbridge, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, by local gardaí assisted by the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit.

No arrests were made and a Garda spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing.

The spokesperson added: "These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and also help protect communities."
