Garda Ombudsman investigates death of man in garda custody at Dublin Airport

The Garda Ombudsman is investigating the death of a man his twenties while in custody at Dublin airport yesterday.

The man died while he was being detained by gardai at Terminal 2.

The death was referred to Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission at about 2.30pm yesterday.

In a statement, the Garda watchdog said: “Investigators are at the scene and a full, independent investigation will be carried out to establish the facts of the situation. Further information will be given when available.”
